Default boot pertama kalu abis install slackware adalah console, untuk menggantinya adalah sbb:

#vim /etc/inittab
edit baris ini untuk mengganti default init level langsung ke mode grafis (init 4)
# Default runlevel. (Do not set to 0 or 6)
id:3:initdefault:   
menjadi:
# Default runlevel. (Do not set to 0 or 6)
id:4:initdefault:

If you are using LILO, specify one of these options at the LILO boot prompt (if you are using the graphical LILO, you must press [Ctrl]-[x] to exit the graphical screen and go to the boot: prompt):
